After outfoxing all the opposition, Claudio Ranieri dilly-donged his troops all the way into the history books last year. Cue outrageous scenes as Jamie Vardy finally threw a party with bottles of WKD flying everywhere. Last seasons championship-winning exploits were nothing short of a miracle, yet this season promises to be even harder for Leicester. The addition of Champions League football into their schedule will stretch the squad and it will be interesting to see how they cope as a question mark lies over their strength in depth. N’golo Kante’s move to Chelsea will be a huge loss but keeping hold of Vardy and Mahrez gives hope of another successful season. The odds of them repeating last years success is 25/1 with the bookies – which is a lot better than 5000/1. It’s unlikely, but after last year you wouldn’t want to bet against it.

Key man: Riyad Mahrez

Best signing: Ahmed Musa

Verdict: 8th
